SWANA (Solid Waste Association of North America) Illinois Chapter is comprised of a wide range of solid waste professionals.  This includes engineering and planning consultants, waste and recycling haulers, and local and state government officials.  The Chapter offers many opportunities for solid waste professionals. This includes:

• Monthly dinner or lunch meetings with a featured speaker on a relevant solid waste topic. 

• Annual Golf Outing held in September. 

• College Scholarship offering. The Golf Outing allows the Illinois Chapter to provide a college scholarship to at least one student each year. 

• The Chapter’s Annual meeting to elect officers is also held in September at the Golf Outing. 

• The Chapter has established committees for membership, scholarship, web page development and legislation.  Other committees are developed on an as needed basis. 

• Chapter partnering with SWANA’s headquarters to provide SWANA’s highly touted certification and other educational courses in-state at much reduced prices.
